Ozark, nee Naylor, of Gurnee, IL, lost her battle with cancer on March 29 at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, IL. Catherine was born November 18, 1941 in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Winston and Irene, nee Wallin, Naylor. Catherine was a graduate of Bemidji High School, Bemidji, MN and Golden Valley Lutheran College in Minneapolis, MN. She received her initial training, in the Montessori method from the Montessori Training Organization (American Montessori Internationale) in London, England in 1968.

From then until her untimely death, Catherine has devoted her life to children. She taught as a Montessori teacher for over thirty years, ran her own Montessori school, Country Meadows Montessori School in Gurnee, IL since 1981. Catherine is survived by her son, Michael T. Ozark; her daughter Catherine A. Ozark: their father.

Theodore Ozark: her sister Gloria and brothers John, William and Winston. Catherine was a member of several Montessori associations, as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a devoted member of her church, Joy Lutheran. Visitation will be at Marsh Funeral Home, on the corner of Cemetery Rd. and Washington St.

Ray Stender grew up in the Chatham neighborhood on Chicago's south side. He graduated from Hirsch High school and the Northwestern University School of Business. In WW Il, Ray served as a 2nd leading Golden Acorn's of the 87th Infantry Division in the liberation of numerous small towns across Germany.

Ray's passions included his family, his business and the game of golf. For his family he was a patient teacher who set an example of compassion, integrity, hard work, love and charity. Home on leave from the army for the holidays in 1945, Ray met Gloria, his wife of 52 years. They were married in Chicago in 1947. After a short stint in public accounting, Ray entered real estate.

Together with Bob Simon, his partner of 43 years, they created the Walton Realty Company and later the Infinity Real Estate Group. In business, Ray's drive and ambition forged the growth of a company that housed over 10,000 residents in communities located throughout the Chicago area, Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati. Ray's favorite diversion was "land evaluation" his euphemism for the game of golf. He spent some of his most pleasurable moments on the fairways of the Idlewild, Hillcrest and Delaire Country Clubs with his golfing buddies, his wife, kids. his brother, Buddy, and his grandchildren.

He especially relished winning his class championship at Hillcrest shortly after his disease was diagnosed last summer.
