Best not to drain the pineapple is my take on the recipe. Blueberry pie filling is good too.

this brought back so many memories, but it’s just my husband and I now and we don’t have much company. I’d love to make it again but I know I would be the one eating the majority soooo, I think I’ll skip it….but thanks for the memories

I wouldn’t Judith. The best part of this recipe is the crunch and you will only get that in the oven!

I have been making dump cakes for years. Always great!!
I sometimes use cherry, apple, and pineapple canned fillings.
Also use BUTTER RECIPE cake mix. the butter and nuts on
top of fillings is what makes this so delicious!!! I ‘ve never used
coconut, but will try.

Is there any substitution for the 2 sticks of butter? I’m diabetic and this recipe sounds so yummy!
I can substitute a sugar free cake mix and sugar free pie mix but need any suggestions for the butter.
Thank you.
